The elegant Table Bay Hotel is located adjacent to Cape Town’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, an expansive complex that includes both a working harbour and more than 450 retail outlets. This large but charming property offers convenient access to the vibrant and cosmopolitan city centre which is just five minutes away – there’s a complimentary shuttle service on offer with numerous drop-off and pick-up points across Cape Town. Opened by none other than Nelson Mandela himself in 1997, the hotel is set against the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain, with some rooms enjoying superb views of the flat-topped mountain, and some looking out over the glistening Atlantic Ocean and busy marina. The hotel has been specially designed to complement its surroundings and has a pleasant maritime theme. Although it’s in a busy area, the hotel offers a sense of restful peace and quiet to its visitors.

There are 311 handsomely decorated guest rooms and suites, all of which are designed to offer both comfort and space. All categories of rooms and suites are air conditioned and come with a range of useful amenities such as bottled water, tea and coffee making facilities, an in-room safe, an LCD TV and complimentary toiletries. There are lots of nice touches such as bathrobes and slippers, blackout curtains and room service.

The comprehensive on-site facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness centre and the full-service Camelot Spa with a variety of indulgent treatments on offer. Though there are plenty of high-quality restaurants just a stone’s throw away, the hotel’s own restaurants are certainly worth trying out. Buffet-style breakfasts are served at The Atlantic, while the Camissa Brasserie offers a variety of delectable local specialties for lunch and dinner. The Union Bar is an ideal place to relax with drinks, while over at the Pool Bar, both drinks and light meals are on the menu. High tea is served at The Lounge, which, like all of the other eating and drinking venues, offers spectacular views.

The hotel welcomes children and there are family rooms available, with DVDs, books and videos for children available on request. For an additional fee, there’s a kids club and a babysitting service.

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
