Mosselberg on Grotto Beach is a privately-owned boutique villa found nestled between the Kleinrivier Mountains and the white sands of the 'Blue Flag' Grotto Beach that stretch as far as the eye can see. This pristine, secluded property features beautiful panoramic views, a large sea-facing deck that overlooks the indigenous Fynbos gardens, an open-plan courtyard with a pool, and direct access to the 18km Grotto Beach.

Each of the 5 top notch suites have their own individual stairwells and a particularly private feel. All rooms have private balconies looking out to sea, ensuite bathrooms and king size beds that can be converted to twins upon request. Three of the rooms feature a sofa bed that comfortably accommodates either two children or one adult.

There's a lounge area with a bar, a games room, table tennis and a small library. Breakfast is served daily and dinner is available on request.

Some of the many available activities on Grotto Beach include whale-watching (seasonal - June to November), great white shark cage diving, scuba diving, or snorkelling. It's also worth venturing down to Stony Point to get a close-up look at the local penguins. Hermanus is a 10 minute drive away and there's a lovely market every Saturday morning selling homemade cakes, local wines, handcrafted breads and more. The hotel is also right on the doorstep of world-class wine estates and golf courses so there is no shortage of things to do.

Children are welcome - a babysitting service is available and there is a park for children on the beach. Lifeguards are sometimes present on the beach, however parents are reminded to keep a watchful eye on their youngsters at all times. Note that most activities are suitable for children, but there will be age restrictions for some.

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
