Overview

Wedgeview Country House & Spa combines the feel of a luxury hotel with the exclusivity of a private residence and is located on a one hectare plot just outside the picturesque and historic town of Stellenbosch. The property is surrounded by a lovely garden, vineyards on all sides and beautiful views across to the majestic Stellenbosch Mountains.

Tastefully built with white walls and traditional thatch roofs, the 18 luxurious rooms are individually decorated, all with stunning views. 7 of the rooms are suites, some of which include kitchen facilities, a dining room and fireplace. All rooms include en-suite bathrooms with a separate bath and shower, air-conditioning, under-floor heating, bathrobes, king size beds, television, minibar and complimentary Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast a semi-private patio, while others have a private balcony. Children are welcome and there is a designated Garden Family Suite with an open lounge, two bedrooms and a private patio with direct access to the lagoon pool. Note that the bathroom is accessed via the main bedroom.

The main house has two luxuriously appointed lounges with fireplaces and wonderful views. Breakfast, comprising a 'Full English' and/or freshly baked croissants and homemade jam, is sometimes served al fresco amidst the pretty surrounding scenery. Lunch is served daily from an a la carte menu and dinners are provided on request. The expansive gardens include two solar heated swimming pools, a raised-deck lapa (entertainment area) and a Spa featuring a sauna, a steam room and a small but well-equipped gym.

Wedgeview is the perfect base from which to explore the Cape Winelands and its many award winning wine farms and vineyards, as well as the towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. Other activities include golf, walking, hiking and mountain biking in the Stellenbosch Mountains, visiting the beach or water-skiing at nearby Lake Blue Rock.

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
