Overview

An elegant riad located to the east of the medina, 10 minutes from the main square. Each of the four suites is spacious, with a small seating area and tadelakt bathroom as well, of course, as a comfortable bed. Each of the suites has been individually decorated and lovingly furnished to a high standard.

The riad also has a self-contained family suite (Douiria), making it an ideal choice for a family travelling together. Whilst benefiting from the services of the riad, it has its own private entrance, two bedrooms and a generous living room with a fire place for chilly evenings and a private roof terrace with views of the Koutoubia and Atlas Mountains. The family suite sleeps up to 4. For larger families, the Fes and Mogador rooms combine well, being close together on the first floor, with the loggia as a private salon.

The riad also benefits from some beautiful communal areas, which offer a serene contrast to the hustle and bustle of the medina. The roof terrace is ideal for relaxation in the sun and the patio offers a welcome respite from the fierce summer heat. However, what really sets this riad apart from many others is the swimming pool, located on one of the terraces, a rarity for Marrakech.

There is free wifi throughout the riad, as well as a selection of board games and books. There is now air conditioning in all rooms in the riad.

  • We had such a good holiday. You did a fantastic job!

The house in Marrakesh was ridiculous. We effectively had it to ourselves. The accommodation was borderline palatial.

I actually think that the time we had in Marrakesh was sufficient. We could potentially have done a day by a pool but I think we’d done enough souk-ing by the end of Day Two.

The hotel in the mountains was a shade more rustic than I was expecting, but all great fun. Stunning views. The guide / mule / cook team were excellent and our guide (Hassan) tailored the treks to our capabilities well. He was superb, and really made an effort with the kids. The second and third day of trekking were particularly good. Such an adventure for the kids.

All the logistics worked seamlessly. Every aspect went like clockwork. Top marks. The advice on tipping was also much appreciated (I hate thinking that I’m getting mugged off or am potentially not giving enough…).

    From my seven-year-old son:

I thought it was GREAT. The food was amazing and the culture was very interesting. My favourite bit was scrambling up rocks in the Atlas Mountains.

In retrospect, I’d probably do the trip in reverse. Flopping on the roof terrace after the rigours of the mountains would have been even more satisfying.

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
