EnquireThe Fellah Hotel is a stylish new desgin-led country hotel outside of Marrakech with admirable ambitions to engage and support the local community and artists through an eclectic blend of activities.
Set within 11 hectares (27 acres) with views of the Atlas Mountain range, there are ten spacious villas. Each of these 850 square meters buildings has been divided - creating 62 rooms all uniquely styled, with a blend of traditional Berber patterns and modern colors and furnishings from Morocco's top artisans and designers. On site there is a state of the art wellness centre and gym, yoga studio, extensive library and excellent children's activities. If you like your relaxation less organised, there is a large heated swimming pool, table tennis, badminton and football within the large grounds.
The restaurant wraps around the swimming pool, and cocktails are served in the outdoor bar and indoor lounge. A nice touch is the TOUCO cafe, a rarity for this kind of resort, it aims to serve authentic local food and is run by local villagers.
Each guest’s check-in contributes a portion to Dar al-Ma'mûn, an UNESCO recognized art center and library that provides cultural education and activities for our local village and supports emerging Moroccan artists with its artists in residence program.
The Children's program is organised with the art center and library and includes art classes (with the artists in residence), storytelling, cooking classes and exploring the farm and gardens. For teens there are art exploration, DJ and film making classes. Activities tend to be centred around school holiday periods and change over time. There are no 2 bedroom suites at Fellah, so families will either need to take two standard rooms or take one of the larger suites which can take upto 2 extra beds.
The Fellah has fantastic facilities but is let down on occasion by mixed service. Standard rooms represent good value for money, and we would recommend it for families looking for an organised and eclectic kids program and varied facilities. However, for a more seamless experience, albeit at a higher price point, both Les Deux Tours and Jnane Tamsna offer superior service in this category.
We had such a good holiday. You did a fantastic job!
The house in Marrakesh was ridiculous. We effectively had it to ourselves. The accommodation was borderline palatial.
I actually think that the time we had in Marrakesh was sufficient. We could potentially have done a day by a pool but I think we’d done enough souk-ing by the end of Day Two.
The hotel in the mountains was a shade more rustic than I was expecting, but all great fun. Stunning views. The guide / mule / cook team were excellent and our guide (Hassan) tailored the treks to our capabilities well. He was superb, and really made an effort with the kids. The second and third day of trekking were particularly good. Such an adventure for the kids.
All the logistics worked seamlessly. Every aspect went like clockwork. Top marks. The advice on tipping was also much appreciated (I hate thinking that I’m getting mugged off or am potentially not giving enough…).
From my seven-year-old son:
I thought it was GREAT. The food was amazing and the culture was very interesting. My favourite bit was scrambling up rocks in the Atlas Mountains.
In retrospect, I’d probably do the trip in reverse. Flopping on the roof terrace after the rigours of the mountains would have been even more satisfying.

Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!
Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.
Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!
All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.
Thanks you once again!
