EnquireVictoria Falls Rainbow Hotel is a contemporary, mid-range hotel located in the Zimbabwean town of Victoria Falls, north western Zimbabwe. A member of the Zimbabwean Rainbow Tourism Group portfolio, the hotel sits in a tranquil, wooded area adjacent to Zambezi National Park, and boasts a pool, two restaurants, and a rooftop viewing area where guests can observe the cascading spray or ‘Mosi oa Tunya’ from the mighty Victoria Falls, a short drive away.
Set within tranquil gardens a short walk from the centre of town and 5 km from the falls, the hotel blends contemporary architecture with Moorish influences. Guest spaces include a pleasant outdoor pool with a ‘swim-up’ bar. The hotel’s Simujinga, or ‘Rainbow’ restaurant overlooks the pool area, and presents a fusion of African and western dishes, whilst the Kraal restaurant specialises in Zimbabwean cuisine, with diners regularly entertained by traditional Zimbabwean dancing.
The hotels offers 88 contemporary rooms and suites, all with ensuite bathrooms including bath or shower. Each room has a double or twin beds draped with mosquito nets, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, phone, and TV. All rooms feature sliding glass doors opening onto an enclosed balcony, some with superb views of Victoria Falls. A number of larger suites are available, each with a separate lounge area, and minibar.
A variety of activities is available locally, all of which can be arranged through the hotel’s tour desk. A breath-taking helicopter flight, or ‘Flight of Angels’ over the iconic Victoria Falls, is an unforgettable experience. Also on offer are guided tours of the falls, game drives, and elephant rides, whilst adrenalin junkies can enjoy bungee jumping and white water rafting.
Children are extremely welcome at the hotel, and several family suites are available. A baby sitting service can be provided, subject to prior arrangement.
We had such a good holiday. You did a fantastic job!
The house in Marrakesh was ridiculous. We effectively had it to ourselves. The accommodation was borderline palatial.
I actually think that the time we had in Marrakesh was sufficient. We could potentially have done a day by a pool but I think we’d done enough souk-ing by the end of Day Two.
The hotel in the mountains was a shade more rustic than I was expecting, but all great fun. Stunning views. The guide / mule / cook team were excellent and our guide (Hassan) tailored the treks to our capabilities well. He was superb, and really made an effort with the kids. The second and third day of trekking were particularly good. Such an adventure for the kids.
All the logistics worked seamlessly. Every aspect went like clockwork. Top marks. The advice on tipping was also much appreciated (I hate thinking that I’m getting mugged off or am potentially not giving enough…).
From my seven-year-old son:
I thought it was GREAT. The food was amazing and the culture was very interesting. My favourite bit was scrambling up rocks in the Atlas Mountains.
In retrospect, I’d probably do the trip in reverse. Flopping on the roof terrace after the rigours of the mountains would have been even more satisfying.

We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths. Will be a trip we remember forever
