On your first day you’ll embark on an extended Nature safari, beginning with an exploration of the flooded mangrove forests by speedboat, a swampland ecosystem riddled with a maze of river channels with unique flora and fauna. You’ll be able to deepen your experience with the opportunity to paddle a canoe around the area and discover it for yourself. You’ll then be able to relax over lunch on board an elegant Burmese Junk while it cruises along the waterways before travelling back to Elephant Hills camp for a well-deserved evening meal. The next day brings you face-to-face, and hand-to-trunk, with the elephants themselves, when you can get to know these amazing beasts up close and find out all about them from their mahouts. On the third day, you’ll finally enter the jungle on foot for a guided tour of this fabulous place - and finally convince yourself that yes, this is really happening!
Day 1: Phangnga
You’ll be picked up from your hotel then transferred to Phangnga, where you’ll explore the rivers in the mangrove forest by motorized dinghy or self paddled canoe. Emerging further along the coast, you’ll meet up with our classical Burmese junk where lunch will be served. You can then spend the afternoon on a deserted beach, swim, relax or paddle canoe. In late afternoon you’ll be transferred to Khao Sok for dinner and then stay overnight at Elephant Hills camp.
Day 2: Elephant Camp
You’ll awaken to the sounds of birds calling in the bush. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the tent for early risers; breakfast is at your leisure, then when ready you’ll transfer to the elephant camp, where you can see, touch and find out about the life of Thai elephants.
During the Elephant Experience you’ll get close to these magnificent animals, with the chance to interact with them and learn the secrets of their mahouts. You will prepare and feed them one of their daily meals, scrub and clean and watch them bathe.
Returning from the jungle, you’ll appreciate the buffet lunch, after which you’ll take a jungle river canoe trip down the Sok River. Drift along the jungle river passing Limestone Mountains and cliffs covered with exotic tropical vegetation. You’ll then return to Elephant Hills Camp for dinner and stay there overnight.
Day 3: Jungle Trek
After a good night’s rest you’ll eat a wholesome breakfast before coming face to face with the jungle on foot. You’ll have seen it from elephant back and from your canoe on the river, but nothing compares to actually walking yourself inside the jungle. Weather permitting, lunch will be served in the rainforest cooked in bamboo, a tradition of jungle explorers for centuries past. In the afternoon you’ll then return to Elephant Hills Camp for your transfer back to your hotel or the airport.
You need to get to one of the following places in Thailand: Phuket, Krabi, Khao Sok, Koh Samui or Surat Thani. Transfers to Elephant Hills Camp run directly from hotels in all these locations.
Transfer from hotels in Phuket, Krabi, Khao Sok, Koh Samui or Surat Thani, tour with activities as specified, meals as described in the itinerary, canoes, boat and transport between activities where required, fully trained guides.
This tour is a “soft” adventure, meaning it should be suitable for anyone in good health. Indeed, children of four years of age and older are welcome, a fact which will no doubt meet with approval from many four-year-old elephant enthusiasts and budding explorers. The camp itself is well-established and very comfortable, offering a stable base for forays into the forest, and the organization has strict environmental policies designed to limit the negative impact potentially inherent in running excursions in such a sensitive area. There is also a real emphasis on sharing information about the elephants, the forest, and the culture of the region, and learning how all three are interconnected.

I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.

Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!
Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.
Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!
All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.
Thanks you once again!

I was also just about to email you to thank you and the team for arranging yet again, another wonderful experience.
Mount Kenya was spectacular and wild - I think I prefer it to Kili in many ways. The entire support team was professional, friendly and all round fantastic in making sure that we were safe, well fed and well looked after. In particular, we would commend Peter the guide as well as Paul one of the porters who doubled-up as his deputy on summit day. Our route was often shrouded in mist and rain that rapidly gathered in the valleys and moorlands, and we were very impressed at how Peter managed to navigate us safely through all of that notwithstanding. In addition, we loved learning about the history of Mount Kenya from him in the evenings. And ofcourse, I was blown away by the lovely birthday surprise at the end complete with balloons and a delicious cake that had journeyed with us from day 1. One thing we might recommend because of the sudden change in weather (it would sometimes get extremely cold and wet) is for the equipment list to be a little bit more detailed in terms of its recommendations e.g. layers to be moisture-wicking, walking boots be waterproof, doubling up on socks to avoid blisters etc.
El Karama is a beautiful conservancy and the lodge a true labour of love. Great hospitality in a relaxed environment. Delicious, fresh food. We enjoyed the drives, even if we didn't see much wildlife as the heavens opened on us for the last two outings. However, since it was very much geared towards families, I am not sure if I would stay again without kids. That said, I think it was perfect for a 3d/2n stay post mountain, and a much better choice than flying to the masai mara given the limited time we had.
Our transits were smooth. Samuel the driver was always on time, drove safely and kept the vehicle clean.
So it was a brilliant experience and one which I certainly will cherish for some time to come. It was great to work with you for a third time, and I certainly hope it won't be the last
