Located in the relatively quiet but central Kilimani district, Palacina Residence and Suites is a stylish boutique hotel offering luxurious accommodation, understated elegance, and warm, personalised hospitality. Just 4km from Nairobi's Central Business District, and 20km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the location is convenient yet peaceful. Set within lovely gardens, the hotel has 14 pristine and spacious suites, along with a fitness room and spa, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The communal spaces include a lounge filled with comfortable sofas, a bar, and a covered veranda featuring plenty of places to relax while looking out over the gardens. The hotel’s Moonflower Restaurant rates highly on Nairobi's list of top eateries, offering a fusion of Mediterranean and Swahili cuisine, often to the accompaniment of live jazz music. Breakfast is served in the open-plan farmhouse kitchen, though guests can also opt to eat in the bar, lounge, or on the terrace.

The accommodation falls into 3 categories; suites, apartments, or the residence. The 8 suites are available on a nightly basis and include two very spacious penthouse units, whilst the residence units are one, two, or three-bedroom apartments, more suitable for long-term stays. All suites are minimalist and elegant, and feature a living room with satellite TV and DVD player, a private balcony, a well-equipped kitchenette, and an ensuite bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi along with standard shower facilities. The hotel apartments come with similar facilities, but also include fully-equipped kitchens for a more independent stay. There is full Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the property.

The hotel is located in the quiet and leafy State House area, a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, yet within easy reach of plenty of shops and restaurants. The YAYA shopping centre and Kuona Trust, one of Nairobi's most fascinating visual art centres, are both located nearby.

Palacina welcomes children of all ages, although parental supervision is requested at all times.

  • We had the most incredible time thank you. We loved Karen Blixen camp and felt part of a family there, it was incredibly special. And Breezes was very relaxing.
We can't fault all the transfers and the moment we were greeted on the tarmac at Nairobi airport we knew we were going to be well cared for.

Thank you so much to you and all the Tourdust team for making it such a happy and memorable trip.

  • We had an amazing trip. Everything was well thought out and so much fun. What a great way to truly see the country and learn the culture.

Joseph was the perfect guide. Very kind, professional, knowledgeable and patient. The kids loved Joseph and keep asking when will they meet him again. He found the Big 5 for us which was unforgettable! Please pass along our appreciation to Joseph.

Maji Moto was also another incredible experience. They had great customer service and we loved experiencing their culture.

Sunbird was absolutely beautiful and I wish we had more time there. We loved the view of the lake!

One suggestion to make the trip even better for other guests in the future would be to have a cooler with drinks and snacks in the Jeep at all times because a ton of driving is involved and it would be helpful to have a cold drink and snacks during the long trip.

Thanks again for organizing this experience of a lifetime for us!

  • I had just the most incredible time on the climb.

The team were incredible and just so accommodating. I really only have good things to say as it was such a great experience.

George was as good as a guide as it gets, very articulate and made sure I was comfortable the whole way up with frequent briefings.
