Overview

Dulini River Lodge is one of three high-end properties which comprise the luxurious Dulini portfolio, and is one of the best of around two dozen accommodation choices within South Africa’s Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Guests will enjoy a premium and highly personalised safari experience along with an exceptionally high standard of accommodation. The property occupies a picturesque setting on the banks of the Sand River, with breath taking views of the lush riverside scenery and undisturbed surroundings.

Accommodation at Dulini River Lodge consists of just six suites, all offering generous amounts of space combined with a homely, intimate feel. Peace and privacy are top priorities here and each suite has a private viewing deck and plunge pool, along with both indoor and outdoor showers. The nearby river flows year-round and is a prime source of water for many animals who often visit for drinks in full view of suites and private viewing decks.

The Sabi Sands Game Reserve is known as an excellent safari destination. Game drives are lead by expert guides who are adept at coordinating with fellow guides to track down rare animals. Guides will share their wealth of knowledge about the reserve and its inhabitants and are always keen to make drives enjoyable, informative and worthwhile. Vehicle safaris depart from the lodge at different times of the day, and guided bush walks are also available. When not out exploring the reserve, guests can unwind in their suites, on the communal viewing deck, or in the lounge. Meals are served in the open-air dining area, with African-style food on the menus. ‘Boma’ dining experiences out in the open under the starry night sky are also on offer.

The lodge welcomes children of all ages. While game drives aren’t suitable for those aged six or under, the lodge can arrange for a babysitter to look after younger family members while parents are out on a game drive. It’s rare for wildlife to approach humans or accommodation, but parents are reminded nonetheless that children of all ages must remain under adult supervision at all times.

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
