Overview

Hoi An Chic is an eco-friendly boutique hotel located in a peaceful spot on the outskirts of Hoi An, in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam. The hotel offers attentive service with just 17 rooms, a restaurant, and a rooftop pool overlooking the surrounding paddy fields. This semi-rural location is just 2km from the white sands of Cua Dai beach and the bustling ancient port town and Unesco World Heritage site of Hoi An, and the hotel operates a complimentary shuttle service to both attractions. Charming and low key, Hoi An Chic offers a comfortable, peaceful base away from the crowds yet within easy reach of the area’s sights and attractions.

The hotel restaurant, 'Lua', presents buffet style breakfasts featuring a range of western and Vietnamese dishes. Lunch and evening meals offer the choice of an a la carte menu or a Vietnamese set meal of traditional ‘family style’ cuisine. Light meals and snacks are available throughout the day, and refreshments including healthy ‘detox’ smoothies are served at the alfresco bar. Room service is available, and private dining in a romantic location can be arranged. Facilities on site include a small gift shop and a pleasant rooftop pool with loungers. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. A free, regular shuttle service, using distinctive former US army jeeps, operates from the hotel into the old town and to Cua Dai beach. Complimentary bicycle hire is also available.

The accommodation comprises just 17 light and airy contemporary rooms, each with a double or twin beds, and a lounge area with a sofa which can convert into an extra bed. Ensuite bathrooms feature an indoor shower and a separate outdoor bathtub with additional rainfall shower. All rooms come with air conditioning, satellite TV, a minibar, complimentary laptop usage, hot drink facilities, and Wi-Fi. DVD players and films can be supplied upon request. Outside each room is a private balcony or terrace with a table and chairs for alfresco dining, and lovely views of the leafy hotel gardens or surrounding countryside.

Children are extremely welcome at Hoi An Chic. The hotel provides a spacious family room with a double bed plus a generous lounge area with two sofa beds. There are also two modern ensuite bathrooms and a private balcony with garden views.

  • We had such a good holiday. You did a fantastic job!

The house in Marrakesh was ridiculous. We effectively had it to ourselves. The accommodation was borderline palatial.

I actually think that the time we had in Marrakesh was sufficient. We could potentially have done a day by a pool but I think we’d done enough souk-ing by the end of Day Two.

The hotel in the mountains was a shade more rustic than I was expecting, but all great fun. Stunning views. The guide / mule / cook team were excellent and our guide (Hassan) tailored the treks to our capabilities well. He was superb, and really made an effort with the kids. The second and third day of trekking were particularly good. Such an adventure for the kids.

All the logistics worked seamlessly. Every aspect went like clockwork. Top marks. The advice on tipping was also much appreciated (I hate thinking that I’m getting mugged off or am potentially not giving enough…).

    From my seven-year-old son:

I thought it was GREAT. The food was amazing and the culture was very interesting. My favourite bit was scrambling up rocks in the Atlas Mountains.

In retrospect, I’d probably do the trip in reverse. Flopping on the roof terrace after the rigours of the mountains would have been even more satisfying.

  • We just wanted to thank you for an absolutely amazing holiday. Everything went exactly to plan and we were blown away with the quality of the guides, transport and accommodation. The itinerary was perfect for our family with a great mix of guided and free days and the different destinations complemented each other well. We will definitely be using Tourdust again for our next trip! Particular highlights were the Ha Long Bay cruise, Hanoi, and the morning cycle tour in Siam Reap
