Periwinkle Guest Lodge is a luxury guesthouse in Plettenberg Bay located just across the road from a blue flag beach. Welcoming and inviting, the lodge makes for an ideal place to stay for anyone visiting the area thanks to its convenient location. From here, the many attractions and sights of the seaside town can be reached easily enough. The lodge is set over three floors and has plenty of public areas available for guests to relax and socialise after a day of sightseeing. The nautical theming that can be seen in both the public areas and the guestrooms is inspired by the lodge’s coastal setting.

For accommodation at the lodge, there are a total of seven guestrooms, all of which are en-suite. They come with plenty of space and are designed to be bright, light and airy. All the necessary amenities are provided; these include tea and coffee making facilities, a minibar, a TV, a ceiling fan and even underfloor heating in the bathroom. Six of the guestrooms have their own balcony offering views of both Robberg Peninsula, which is a nature reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Tsitskamma Mountains. Note that children aged 11 and under aren’t allowed to stay at the lodge.

Breakfast is included in all rates. Every morning, guests are served a continental breakfast, with hot items available on request and cooked to order. There are no afternoon or evening meals available, though staff can recommend nearby places to eat. While staying here, guests are just a short walk from the highly rated Robberg Beach. Many visit the white-sand beach to sunbathe, go on leisurely walks or practise water sports such as surfing or bodyboarding. Whales and dolphins can even be spotted in the vicinity at certain times of the year. Robberg Peninsula is a haven for nature enthusiasts and offers both scenic walks and more challenging hikes. It’s home to an impressive collection of prehistoric rocks thought to be 120 million years old and artefacts dating back to the Stone Age. There’s also diverse plant life and bird species to be spotted here.

Plettenberg Bay has many other attractions to discover. Scattered throughout the town and the wider area are over a dozen wine estates offering samples and tasting sessions. There’s also the chance to take part in thrilling activities such as bungee jumping and parachuting. While the town has quite a tranquil, relaxed character, it still has lively nightlife and more than enough places to eat and drink. When not out exploring the town, guests can relax at the guesthouse and take in the wondrous views of the seafront. They can also make use of the on-site fitness and spa facilities.

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
