Overview

Renowned worldwide for its proximity to the ocean and one hour and 26 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, Hermanus offers the ultimate whale watching site during whale season as well as shark cage diving; a once in a lifetime chance to observe Great White Sharks in their natural habitat. Situated in the heart of the historical village, Harbour House Hotel is only a few feet away from a variety of upmarket restaurants, popular attractions and activities. The hotel has been modelled after its original architecture, a thatched roof seaside manor house built in 1920. Rooms are luxuriously appointed, with sophisticated modern décor and breathtaking views, all within easy walking distance of the town’s top attractions, whale watching sites, markets, restaurants, street cafés and an abundance of reserved natural splendour. The Harbour House Hotel consists of the restored Manor House with intimate Romantic Rooms, all with views over the garden and pool area, as well as the New Wing with 18 spacious suites. Sleek lines and carefully curated art pieces add to the modern aesthetic of each room. Being perfectly located above the Old Harbour, the hotel’s understated luxury is offset by the soothing surrounds of the ocean. The magnificent Lookout Terrace invites guests to relax around the infinity pool overlooking the ocean and savour a sundowner from the pool bar in the Pavilion.

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair

  • Can't praise tour dust enough, they helped us to create a holiday of a lifetime that has given us family memories we will treasure forever. From start to finish the whole experience was exactly what we wanted and more. Due to covid we waited 2 and a half years for this trip but worth the wait.
