Overview

Six Senses Con Dao is super luxurious exclusive, yet responsible beach resort that sets the bar for the region. The resort is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty, sat along a mile of golden sand. There are 50 villas, all of which feature a private pool and sea views. The private Dat Doc Beach stretches over 1 mile (1.6 kilometer) with crystal-blue water and a dramatic backdrop of Lo Voi Mountains.

Located off the south-east coast of mainland Vietnam, the Con Dao archipelago of 16 islands was initially settled by the British East India Company in 1702. More than 80 percent of Con Dao archipelago is a marine protected area and national park. The largest island, Con Son, which hosts Six Senses Con Dao is around 145 miles (230 kilometers) from Ho Chi Minh City and is served by Co Ong airport. It can be reached by commercial flights or chartered private plane in 45 minutes from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

From single-level to duplex, and offering one, two, three or four bedrooms, all 50 villas have infinity pools and secluded outdoor bathrooms, wood panelling and natural ventilation to reduce the need for air-conditioning (although bedrooms are still air conditioned). Go for Ocean View for privacy and Ocean Front to wake up with your feet (almost) in the sparkling sea. The efficient, contemporary design uses natural ventilation for bathrooms and living areas, with bedrooms offering air-conditioned comfort. Ocean Front units all have direct beach access. Ocean View villas are located at an elevated position behind the Ocean Front units, providing beautiful ocean views while still being only a few moments' walk away from the sandy beach.

Activities include complimentary use of bicycles to explore the Island, Paddle Boards and Kayaks. There is excellent snorkelling and diving at the nearby Hon Tai and Bay Canh or Cau islands (speed boat trip). The Spa offers classic signature treatments and specialist therapies. There is a large central swimming pool with poolside service.

Located by the seafront, By The Beach offers contemporary International cuisine with a great selection of vegetarian meals, gourmet meats and seafood dishes, with a small selection of Vietnamese specialty dishes. Open from breakfast until the end of dinner service. Vietnamese By the Market offers authentic traditional Vietnamese cuisine prepared by Ms. No and her team. Ms. No is one of the local Hosts, originating from Con Dao; she has been cooking traditional and wholesome local food for many years. Located by The Market place, the Elephant Bar gives the option of light, casual dining throughout the day as well as an amazing selection of cocktails and mocktails for the day and evening. Situated by the main pool and overlooking the beach, the Splash Bar is a great spot for a daytime cocktail or sundowner, light snacks are also served during the day. Deli’cious Deli, which is located right at The Market place, offers a selection of mouthwatering super-relaxed dining options; from tapas style producers boards to delightful homemade ice creams.

  • I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!

  • I was also just about to email you to thank you and the team for arranging yet again, another wonderful experience.

Mount Kenya was spectacular and wild - I think I prefer it to Kili in many ways. The entire support team was professional, friendly and all round fantastic in making sure that we were safe, well fed and well looked after. In particular, we would commend Peter the guide as well as Paul one of the porters who doubled-up as his deputy on summit day. Our route was often shrouded in mist and rain that rapidly gathered in the valleys and moorlands, and we were very impressed at how Peter managed to navigate us safely through all of that notwithstanding. In addition, we loved learning about the history of Mount Kenya from him in the evenings. And ofcourse, I was blown away by the lovely birthday surprise at the end complete with balloons and a delicious cake that had journeyed with us from day 1. One thing we might recommend because of the sudden change in weather (it would sometimes get extremely cold and wet) is for the equipment list to be a little bit more detailed in terms of its recommendations e.g. layers to be moisture-wicking, walking boots be waterproof, doubling up on socks to avoid blisters etc.

El Karama is a beautiful conservancy and the lodge a true labour of love. Great hospitality in a relaxed environment. Delicious, fresh food. We enjoyed the drives, even if we didn't see much wildlife as the heavens opened on us for the last two outings. However, since it was very much geared towards families, I am not sure if I would stay again without kids. That said, I think it was perfect for a 3d/2n stay post mountain, and a much better choice than flying to the masai mara given the limited time we had.

Our transits were smooth. Samuel the driver was always on time, drove safely and kept the vehicle clean.

So it was a brilliant experience and one which I certainly will cherish for some time to come. It was great to work with you for a third time, and I certainly hope it won't be the last
