- Mobile safari camp
- Ideal for the migration
- En-suite tents
- Comfortable beds
The Serengeti Green Camp tracks the migration pattern in the Serengeti, so its precise location will vary depending on the time of year. There are generally a maximum of ten tents per campsite, but to keep the intimacy and preserve the peace, there are 4 separate dining areas, so, wherever possible, families will be able to dine privately.
The sleeping tents are bell shaped, four metres across and a centre pole raises the tents to a comfortable 10 feet. They are completely water and insect proof with large front and rear gauze door, roof vents and windows which can be closed up. Beds are raised off the ground with thick comfy mattresses, 100% cotton linen and fleece blankets. Bedside tables have solar lights and overhead reading lights. Each tent has a private veranda with two chairs and face washing basin with mirror that will be replenished with hot water. Your shower and loo are attached to the rear with hot bucket shower, bath sheets and soap provided. The loo is a shallow pit latrine system with wooden box the height of standard European loo. All tents are serviced daily.
All meals are served in a dedicated dining area within the campsite. Dinner is generally a four course meal prepared with fresh ingredients by the chef in camp. Freshly ground coffee, tea and water are available throughout the day and included drinks are sodas, beer, red and white wine, fruit juice and gin & tonic.
In summary this is a fully serviced camping experience, waiter, chef and driver. All is prepared for your arrival and there is no need to assist with any camp chores. Creature comforts such as comfortable beds and hot showers in a private camp site are provided. Should the camps move during your stay to follow the migration, you will simply go out for the day and return to a new campsite with everything waiting for you.

Tailor-made Adventure 2 weeks
Thanks for all your help in making the arrangements, everything went so smoothly from landing in Jo’burg to departing a week later.
We all had a fantastic time, Kirsty (our youngest) was able to go on all the game drives and we were very well looked after both on the drives and back at the lodge. The food was great, staff were all very friendly & nothing was too much trouble for them (e.g. providing hot milk for Kirsty at bedtime). The kids all enjoyed the rock pool during the day and we all loved the game drives.
We were lucky enough to see all the big 5, with the additions of Cheetah & Wild Dogs. I think it was the second to last day before we managed to see some Hippo (and finally I’ve been able to take some photos of them - I have only ever seen them at night before). We had the adventure of being caught up with some Lionesses stalking a herd of Zebra (one of the younger Lionesses went a bit early & scattered the herd).
We’re certainly aiming to go on safari again although it will be a while before we save enough to go again (maybe the kids will be taking us next time!)

I had just the most incredible time on the climb.
The team were incredible and just so accommodating. I really only have good things to say as it was such a great experience.
George was as good as a guide as it gets, very articulate and made sure I was comfortable the whole way up with frequent briefings.

We had an amazing time thank you. The itinerary was great as we felt like we saw lots of different things and it kept it interesting for our daughter. She especially loved the gorge at Hells Gate.
Unfortunately the Menengai Crater walk was a bit hard for her although that probably had something to do with how hot it was!
We especially loved the Sunbird Lodge - it is such a beautiful place and all the staff were so incredibly welcoming and friendly.
Our guide, Joseph, was exceptional too and we can’t speak highly enough of him.
