Galapagos Liveaboard Dive Boat

Galapagos Liveaboard Dive Boat

A deluxe, 100-foot liveaboard boat, the M/Y Sky Dancer is the Galapagos’ newest and best-equipped scuba diving vessel. This eight-day tour promises sub-aqua exploration of the highest calibre in one of the world’s largest and most unique marine reserves!

Like flotsam detached from some ancient wreck, the Galapagos Islands appear lost and lifeless, adrift in the eastern Pacific. Straddling the Equator 1000km off the coast of Ecuador, the volcanic archipelago rises from the waves like a jagged, reptilian crest, a lacerated lava-scape of barren brilliance. From the scattered mangroves, through the arid cactus lowlands to the lush cloud forests of the upper regions, these young islands embody life in its infancy. Flora and fauna of unparalleled diversity confound modern visitors just as they did Charles Darwin some 175 years ago. It was here, observing the specific variation between islands, that the naturalist refined his theory of evolution. The species that inspired him – the finches, tortoises and marine iguanas – remain to this day (along with sharks, rays and near-tame sea lions!), a timeless testament to nature’s genius.

Welcome aboard the M/Y Sky Dancer, one of sleekest yachts in the Galapagos! Equipped with a photo and video lab, light tables, daily E-6 processing and ample gear storage space, the boat is a diver’s dream! This eight-day Galapago liveaboard dive boat sails to all the main islands of the archipelago, from Lobos and Bartolome to Isabela and Darwin. This whole region is a UNESCO World Heritage Marine Reserve, home to some of the most extraordinary fauna on Earth. Daily dives (up to four per day!) will bring you face-to-face with many of these weird and wonderful species, including penguins, rays and frolicking sea lions! You’ll also have the chance to explore the islands on foot, with walking tours of the volcanoes, mangroves and sandy bays.

This unique diving holiday can be enjoyed by anyone with some scuba experience and a taste for adventure! The Galapagos Marine Reserve offers some of the world’s finest sub-aqua exploration, while above water it’s equally exciting. You can’t fail to be charmed by the islands’ charismatic inhabitants, not to mention their ‘end-of-the-world’ topography, and a diving tour offers an extra(ordinary) perspective on all this! Combine submarine magic and luxurious lodgings and you have a holiday fit for a king (if he happens to be into scuba diving!)
