In most of the fairy tales we read as children, witches are cast as the evil women who are bent on causing destruction. For the most part, we take our childhood interpretations of witches into adulthood. Few people know that witches were once an accepted part of Celtic society and were regarded as 'women with wisdom.' Allison, known as talogwitch, practices witchcraft to the good. She focuses on healing and self enlightenment; leading women on a journey to harmony and inner strength and calm.

Your three day break will be a mixture of spiritual enlightenment and learning. Allison, a pagan minister and witch, will guide you through the spiritual side, helping you to find clarity and inner-harmony. You will also spend time learning about some of the witches' rituals. Allison will teach you how to dress a sacred altar which is used by witches as their sacred space in the spiritual world. You will also be taught how to make wand and a witch bottle which is a bottle which is used by witches to draw in negative energy and evil which is being directed at its owner. Finally you will also be taught how to make and read witches runes. By the end of your stay, you will have learned how to use all of these tools and Allison will also read your tarot cards for you.

Accommodation & food

The accommodation is ‘Self Catering’ within a fully equipped, local farmhouse. All food is eaten together and prepared by your hosts.

Is it for me?

If you’re a cynic of any sort then no, this really isn’t one for you. You’ll need an open mind, a desire to reconnect with the inner 'you' and an interest in Paganism. If you tick off those three prerequisites then go for it. If, however, you’re not sure, then it’s probably not the one for you.

Due to the nature of the break, this isn't really ideal for young children. See it as a chance to get away from it all and to focus on you!

Who runs it?

Esoteric tours is a collaboration between Allison Beldon Smith and Mary Baker. Allison is an archaeologist and classicist and is also a pagan witch. She is perfectly equipped to guide you on your spiritual journey. Mary is also an archaeologist and has been running archaeotours for several years. She has a vast interest and expertise in pre-historic settlements and tool manufacturing sites. Together they can provide a very unique and enlightening experience that you will never forget.
