Cycling & Beer Tour in Yorkshire

Spend a weekend mountain biking in Yorkshire on a guided tour of the wild moors in true Bronte country. Then, stop and sample some of the country’s finest ales at a local family-owned micro-brewery. Accommodation is provided so you have no excuse not to try each of the 7 locally brewed beers.

Your weekend break begins in the village of Haworth in West Yorkshire. Located in the wild Penine moors, the village is famous because the Bronte sisters are said to have written their novels here. The rugged moors, covered with bracken and heather, make for an inspiring backdrop as you ride towards Keighley and the Old Bear Brewery.

The microbrewery is run by a local family and has been operating since 1993. Enjoy a tour with explanations of the beer making process and then, the highlight, a chance to sample some (or all) of the 7 regular brews and the monthly specials.

After spending the night in a local hotel, what better way to brush off the cobwebs than a hearty breakfast and then hopping back on to your bike? You will head back up towards Haworth, taking in the breathtaking views of Baildon and Ilkley Moor as you ride.

First things first, this tour involves beer tasting and cycling, so if you have an aversion to alcohol or 2-wheeled transport, then best to avoid this one. Likewise, this is not appropriate for children.

You will cover about 40 miles when cycling and there are a few hills, but you don’t need to be mega-fit. The group size is kept deliberately small to ensure that you can all ride at your own pace and can stop to admire the views as and when you wish. Your luggage is transferred, so you can feel free to buy a few beers to take home as a memento!
