Itinerary

Overview

  • Relax & unwind at Sir Richard Branson's Mountain retreat
  • Guided day walks & mountain biking in the High Atlas Mountains
  • Explore Marrakech from the comfort of the boho chic El Fenn
  • Trip extensions to include the Luxury Desert Camp in the Sahara (Oct - April) or the Beach (summer) available
This exclusive holiday has been designed for couples and families wanting to explore Morocco's highlights whilst staying in luxurious accommodation. The week begins in the High Atlas Mountains, where you will be based at Sir Richard Branson's Moroccan retreat, Kasbah Tamadot. Located near to the town of Asni in a beautiful valley in the foothills of the High Atlas Moutains, this is the place to come to relax in style. With two swimming pools, beautifully appointed rooms and a highly attentive team, you will be able to unwind and switch off. After a day of relaxing at the hotel, you have two days with our guides which you can spend exploring the surrounding area. We suggest spending one of those days on foot with an English speaking guide who will take you on a day walk tailored to your needs. If you are travelling as a family, we will provide an extra mule and riding hats for your children to ride when they need to rest their legs. A full Berber picnic is included in your day. On your second day, you have the option of more walking, or you might prefer to explore the local area by mountain bike.

After exploring the mountains, we will then transfer you to the pink city of Marrakech. This walled imperial city is home to the famous Djemma el Fna, which comes alive at night with story tellers, snake charmers, food stalls and acrobats. Away from the square are the winding souks selling everything from slippers to lanterns to spices. There are also some fascinating cultural places of interest, including the Medersa Ben Youssef and the Bahia Palace, which has some exquisite displays of Moroccan mosaics and stone carvings. For a breath of fresh air and a change of scene, we also recommend fitting in a visit to the Majorelle Gardens, designed by Yves Saint Laurent. Your backdrop to all of this, is a stay at the fabulous Riad El Fenn, just minutes from the main square. With a gorgeous roof terrace (serving the best margaritas in town) and boho chic decor, this is the place to stay in Marrakech. There is a pool and spa on site, and fabulous rooms to suit couples, honeymooners and families.

If you have time to extend your holiday, then we recommend either adding a trip to the Luxury Desert Camp in the Sahara during the winter months, or a stay at the coast during the summer. On the Coast we would recommend La Diouna (exclusive villa in Oualidia), La Sultana Oualidia or Rebali Riads. Please contact us for more details on these options.

  • The whole experience was truly fascinating and was really well organised from start to finish. We came away feeling that we had experienced the real Morocco. The accommodation and food was excellent throughout and we particularly liked Kasbah de Cigogne and the incredibly friendly staff, especially Ali! The mountain trek was invigorating and proved a highlight of the holiday - even the cold overnight stay in a mountain gite!. Credit to the guides and excellent cook plus of course the ever patient mules! We couldn't believe the quality(and quantity) of delicious hot food prepared half way up a mountain for us!
Oh and Marrakesh - well it needs no introduction but if you need to get away from the Souks for a while, a day at the Beldi Club comes highly recommended!
We'll be back to conquer Toubkal one day!

  • We had a fantastic holiday in Morocco. Both Riad Dar Imlil and Riad Wo were lovely, the staff very friendly and helpful and both served delicious food. Please could you pass on our thanks in particular to Ibrahim who was our guide in the Atlas mountains. He was a brilliant guide, extremely helpful and considerate and a definite asset to your operation out there. All the transfers went smoothly and the little extra touches such as the pastries and water in the taxi from the airport to the mountains were very much appreciated.

We will most certainly be recommending Tourdust to all our friends.

  • We would very much like to give our feedback regarding our trip to Morocco because it was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish there was nothing to fault, Mustafa our guide in the mountains was great - discrete when necessary but delightfully eloquent and informed about a wide variety of subjects. The food in the mountains was superb ( though the toilet facilities in the gites d'etape left a lot to be desired!!) The guest house Dar Adrar was beautiful with amazing views. The riad in Marrakesh was lovely and such a welcome respite after the hectic souks.....and as for the surfing.....it was fab!!!! Mohammed our instructor was patient and so super cool....a real gem and great with our children.
All in all it was wonderful and we were all sad to leave. We will definitely consider using Tourdust again and wont hesitate to recommend you to our friends.
