Explore Greece's sleepy villages and bays with an experienced guide on this relaxing 8 day sea kayaking holiday staying in a mixture of beach side camping & apartments. Ideal for beginners, there is plenty of time to paddle, snorkel and swim, as well as some beautiful barbecues under the stars.
Kefalonia, the largest of the Ionian islands, is located in Western Greece and enjoys a beautiful Mediterranean climate. With beautiful beaches it has become a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a relaxing holiday and was made famous by the film of Captain Corelli's mandolin. Ithaca, to the north west of the island, is much smaller and quieter than its neighbour, with just over 3,000 inhabitants. Here, time seems to stand still, with quiet beaches, sleepy villages and emerald waters.
This holiday is a perfect introduction to both the charms of Greece and also to sea kayaking. Your experienced guide will teach you the basics and will then lead you over 8 days, paddling along Kefalonia & Ithaca's stunning coastlines, with coves and inlets to discover along the way. There is plenty of time to stop off for snorkelling and swimming, as well as time to explore on land as well. Accommodation is in a mixture of small apartments and camping on the beach with no amenities. Sitting and enjoying barbecues on the beach in the moonlight, will definitely be one of the highlights of the trip!
This is the ideal trip if you are looking for an introduction to sea kayaking. The total distance you will cover is just over 100km, but this is spread into manageable distances over 7 days of paddling. There is plenty of time for breaks along the way.
When you are camping, there will be very limited facilities - no bathrooms or running water.
The maximum group size for this trip is 10 people. If you are a small group and would like to enquire about a departure outside of the dates below, please contact us.
