Overview

Eagles Crag Lodge is a premier lodge nestled in a Shamwari cliff-side, and as such offers incredible and private views of the immense surrounding African scenery. It is an excellent choice for honeymooners.

Guest accommodation is comprised of nine luxury suites fashioned from glass and stone. There are seven King-bedded and two twin-bedded suites. Each sleeps a maximum of two adults, and features en-suite facilities, indoor and outdoor showers, a bird-spotting scope, and a private deck with a private plunge pool.

In the main lodge, there is a lounge featuring a fireplace and big-screen television, an upstairs lounge that opens out onto a terrace, a library, and a Relaxation Retreat with two therapy rooms, a hydro bath, steam room, and a sauna. The Lodge also welcomes businesses, and features a Business Centre with WiFi and boardroom that holds up to 18 delegates.

Eagles Crag is just one of many sister lodges in the Shamwari Game Reserve. Like its sister lodges, it offers incredible opportunities to get close to and explore the surrounding wildlife. The Shamwari area is malaria-free, and has many green initiatives and animals that roam free around it, offering guests a great opportunity to experience the wildlife organically. Game Drives are one of the best ways to explore the surrounding plains. On these, guests can expect to spot elephants, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, zebra, lion, wildebeest, antelope, and hyena, with chance to also see White and Black Rhino, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog.

There are also many opportunities for guests to learn more about the area and local conservation efforts at the Rhino Awareness Centre, Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, and the Born Free Big Cat Rescue Centre, some of an array of resident efforts to prevent poaching and conserve dwindling game populations.

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
