Overview

This restored manor house and former perfumery dating back to 1890, is situated on the outskirts of Franschhoek and is surrounded by enchanting vineyards and majestic mountains.

The Country House and Villas offers 14 luxury rooms and 12 Villa Suites. All the rooms offer features and facilities expected of a first class hotel. Almost all rooms lead out onto private balconies or private patio with magnificent views. The Villa Suites are very luxurious, and are each a 100sqm in size and boasts a fireplace, DVD player, individual satellite TV, 2 air conditioners, 2 balconies, and many more unexpected luxuries. During summer, guests laze at one of the two pools (one heated) with beautiful mountain vistas, visit the boutique wine-farms in Franschhoek, or stroll in the charming town found by the French Huguenots. The in house Monneaux restaurant, voted as one of South Africa's Top Restaurants, has become known for its innovative Modern French Cuisine. A-la-Carte lunches are served on the magnificent new fountain terrace whilst dinner is served in the understated, yet elegant, dining room or enclosed veranda. The wine list emphasizes local wines that can also be enjoyed by the glass in the cosy wine bar or underground cellar.

Arguably the best suites on offer in the winelands, the suites are each a total of 100sqm in size which include a separate lounge, bedroom and picturesque bathroom and 2 private balconies. Entering into a welcome atmosphere of luxury and space the spacious lounge includes comfortable seating arrangements, an in-room dining facility, mini-bar, entertainment system with satellite tv, fireplace, air-conditioning, dvd player and music throughout the suite. The lounge also leads out onto a large private balcony with loungers to relax and enjoy the gardens and views. The separate bedroom is luxuriously appointed with all the expected amenities and facilities, lush duvets, quality percale linen and a choice of pillows to make you feel at home. The bedroom is also equipped with a separate air-conditioning which leads onto the second balcony. The picturesque bathrooms with it's picture perfect layout includes stand-alone baths, separate shower, bidet and double basins with granite tops. Music in the bathroom and underfloor heating throughout completes the experience of luxury and indulgence!

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
